Looking for Trading Assistant (Chicago hedge fund) for USA
Successful quantitative hedge fund is seeking an
Trading Operations Specialist. The ideal candidate has 1-3 years of
experience working as an analyst/trader/operations specialist or support
technologist for a hedge fund, trading firm, broker-dealer or a t bank.
Programming experience (preferably Matlab, Perl/Python, SQL) is a must
along with a strong command of Bloomberg and Excel. The role is best
suited for a candidate who is punctual, well-organized, dependable,
possesses excellent written/verbal communication skills, with a
demonstrated ability to take initiative, multi-task, and remain
organized in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:- Automating, monitoring, and ensuring quality of data downloads (using Perl, Matlab, SQL, and Automate)
- Actively liaising with Prime Brokers and data providers to ensure that all data needs are met
- Executing trading algorithms and submitting trade files for various trading regions via Bloomberg
- Analyzing trade data (slippage, commissions, locates, etc.) and improving the trade process (automating processes and modifying existing scripts where needed)
- Submitting and booking individual trades (e.g. hedging the portfolio, liquidating rights, etc.)
- Interacting with Accounting, BackOffice, and prime brokers to reconcile trades, P&L, and corporate actions and ensure that the group's global portfolios trade on time
- Modifying and improving existing Matlab and Perl code
- Generating investor reports and assisting with newsletters (using existing scripts and writing new ones)
- Reporting short holding exposures to regulators
- Monitoring markets and the group's portfolios for unusual activity
- Creating weekly reports on operations activities
