Research Fellow (5 positions)

The School of Materials Science and Engineering, NTU (http://www.mse.ntu.edu.sg/)
is recruiting research staff to participate in a research programme on
Translational Science. Projects in the group are focused on engineering
approaches to understand biological systems and to treat human diseases.
Applications are invited for appointment to the following positions:
(A) Research Fellow in Materials Science and Engineering (Interfacial Science)
Requirements:
- Ph.D. degree in Materials Science, Physics, Biophysics, Chemistry, or related interfacial science fields.
- Fundamental understanding of interfacial science concepts.
- Laboratory experience with model membranes/liposomes and nanoparticles is preferred.
- Strong motivation for paper publication.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Able to work independently and within teams.
- Hard-working and able to meet deadlines.
(B) Research Fellow in Membrane Biophysics
Requirements:
- Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or related nanobiotechnology fields.
- Expertise/skills in the following areas are desirable: quartz crystal microbalance, surface plasmon resonance, imaging ellipsometry, surface electrochemistry, lipid vesicle selfassembly.
- Strong experimental skills.
- Strong motivation for paper publication.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Able to work independently and within teams.
- Hard-working and able to meet deadlines.
(C) Research Fellow in Chemistry of Nanomaterials
Requirements:
- Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or related nanobiotechnology fields.
- Expertise/skills in the following areas are desirable: nanoparticle synthesis, nanochemistry, atomic force microscopy, and electron microscopy.
- Strong experimental skills.
- Strong motivation for paper publication.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Able to work independently and within teams.
- Hard-working and able to meet deadlines.
(D) Research Fellow in Tissue Engineering & Regenerative Medicine
Requirements:
- Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry or related field.
- Expertise/ skills in the following areas are desirable: polymer chemistry, hydrogel materials, soft lithography, cell culture, cell characterization.
- Strong experimental skills.
- Strong motivation for paper publication.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Able to work independently and within teams.
- Hard-working and able to meet deadlines
(E) Research Fellow in Materials Science and Engineering (Liver Tissue Engineering)
Requirements:
- Ph.D. degree in Materials Science, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Chemistry or related tissue engineering fields.
- Laboratory experience with hepatocyte cell culture is preferred.
- Strong motivation for paper publication.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Able to work independently and within teams.
- Hard-working and able to meet deadlines.
The candidate is expected to oversee the progress of various related projects and also assist in student supervision.

will be attractive, and commensurate with experience. We anticipate a
