Civil Structural Chief Engineer Job in Al Khobar Saudi Arabia

Job Description

Principal Accountabilities:

Management of Civil Structural department with 50+ multicultural engineers and designers

Acting as chief engineer of the group and responsible of the technical integrity of Civil Structural deliverables of concurrent projects

Focal point for providing Civil Structural technical support to the overall organization

Review approve Civil Structural design specifications, major deliverables and drawings

Resolve Civil Structural engineering issues by applying accepted principals, codes and standards

Participate in preparation of project proposals, engineering manhours and cost estimates

Take active role in design reviews, design validation, technical audits and squad check reviews

Ensure Civil Structural design is completed with high degree of quality

Develop and maintain Civil Structural design procedures

Review approve Civil Structural design specifications, major deliverables and drawings

Develop and maintain Civil Structural design procedures

Coordinate activities with other departments and clients

Manage Civil Structural department resources, make staffing and recruitment decisions

Develop and maintain Civil Structural department organization charts and suggested organizational improvement as needed

Responsible of team performance evaluation

Prepare and manage Civil Structural department budget

Support business development activities as needed

Provide training, coaching and mentoring of young engineers and designers

Responsibilities

Key Qualities

Track record of successful management of Civil Structural department in major design offices

Extensive detail design experience in LSTK and reimbursable projects is a must

Conceptual and FEED design experience is important

Experience in General services projects is plus

Experience in Oil/Gas/Civil Structural/Infrastructure projects is a must

Expert in various civil engineering such as water resources engineering, complex infrastructure design, municipal engineering and hydraulic modeling

Experience in land development studies, storm & sanitary sewer design, open & closed drain systems, and complex hydraulic studies

Expert knowledge of buildings and industrial structural design, including foundations for large equipment, dynamic analysis of piperacks, supporting structure, modular structural design, precast buildings, etc.

Full knowledge of Civil Structural international standards and design codes Managerial skills with good communication skills

Ability to resolve conflicts that would arise within the department

Knowledge of progress measurement of electrical design work, man-hour work analysis, earned value scheme, etc..

Knowledge of implementing change management procedures
Requirements

Special Expertise

Experience in supervising Civil Structural design activities in concurrent projects

Previous work experience in Saudi Aramco projects is plus

Experience

BS Degree in engineering with min. 20 years relevant design experience
Registered as professional engineer with a recognized organization is plus
Must have thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation method and design details
